DEMELZA DREAMS CHARITY CONCERT - DECEMBER 2002.

This was a concert that was staged by friends of Stage Theatre Society who asked us for help in producing the show. This included use of our technical know-how, brilliant acting, some funding towards the show and songs from our past cabarets. This show was also a huge success.

STARS IN OUR EYES - MARCH 2003.

This was the show that made Stage Theatre Society known in Medway. Our first show at a professional theatre (HAZLITT THEATRE MAIDSTONE). The show was a one night performance based on the popular TV show Stars in Their Eyes, where the audience vote for the best performance. The show was an amazing success. We filled the theatre and had to turn people away. The audience were amazing, the cast were amazing - in fact the show was TRULY AMAZING. After this show we had a further 14 cast members join from seeing the performance.

VENICE ROCK - APRIL 2003.

This was a production performed by The Howard School in Rainham Kent. Stage Theatre Society was called upon for their technical expertise. This time we hired the school a full technical team including Lighting, Sound and Follow spot operators. We also completely reinstalled the schools Sound System for this show as it had greatly deteriated. The show was based on the Merchant Of Venice and was a huge success throughout.

SWING IT '2003 - SEPTEMBER 2003.

This production was performed for 1 week from the 10th - 14th September 2003 at the Hazlitt Theatre Maidstone. The show was an amazing success, and was a variety show based on the 50s, 60s, and 70s. With music and dancing from that era. The theatre company gained much more audience than was expected and this show put our company on the map. This was by far our best show yet.

SHOWTIME FOR PUDSY - NOVEMBER' 2003.

This was a production with a difference for STS. This was a show that was only rehearsed for 1 and 1/2 days, and the show put on that night. This was an amazing achievement for both the performing and technical side of Stage Theatre Society. The show on a whole went really well, we had a full house with only a few days of advertising the show. Showtime for Pudsy was performed at The Rainham School For Girls on the 16th November, and is yet another string to our bow.

The show was put on at both The Rainham School For Girls and The Hazlitt Theatre, which was also a huge achievement for us. This was the first time that the company used an amazing full live band for a show which was a huge success. The acting in this show from our cast was exceptional. Many compliments were given from audience after the shows. Many Thanks to everyone involved in this performance, this was our best yet.

Cinderella was performed in Jan '06 at the Brook theatre in Chatham. The show on the night went really well and the kids all tried really hard to pull of what ended up as a truly amazing performance. But again we managed to pull off an excellent show! Back To The 80's was performed at the Brook Theatre Chatham from the 1st-3rd Feb 2007. Huge Congratulations to everyone involved with the show. THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK JUN 2007.

It may not have been Halloween, but you would be forgiven for thinking it was when our fantastic cast performed yet another amazing STS production. STS continues to improve and amaze not only our audience but ourselves too! The witches and Darryl Vanhorn actually flew onto the stage, to everyone's amazement, at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone! Despite Darryl having to fly back to front on our opening night (Woops!) - the show went without hitch and was a great success! Congratulations to all the cast of Witches of Eastwick and thank you for all your hardwork and commitment to Stage Theatre Society. WE WILL ROCK YOU NOV 2007.

Buddy your a boy make a big noise baby! and by god did we make a big noise.....in November 2007 Stage Theatre Society arrived at the Brook Theatre with enough technical equipment to sink a boat! We had a sound system that could wake the dead and lighting that was so impressive we considered getting rid of the cast and just having a light show (kidding) That week the cast of Stage Theatre Society ROCKED Chatham! The show quite literally took your breath away....we had people enjoy the show so much they were wanting their shirts and programmes signed by the cast. A big well done goes out to all the cast and crew for all of their outstanding hard work on this show, which yet again raised the bar for Stage Theatre Society.....

The show was an amazing success with some great reviews from the audience members. A big thankyou goes out to all who helped make this production the success it was, and roll on the junior production of Honk The Musical in August.

TITANIC! MAY 2008..

Every night in my dreams i see you.... well that is what i was thinking in the run up to this show! Titanic was performed at the Hazlitt Theatre - and naturally STS done it with style...we wanted a boat that tipped...so we replaced the stage with an entire boat...that tipped! Some of the audience members were saying this was a monumental challenge that we took on to perform this show....but we pulled it off! Well done to all the cast and crew who helped to make this show so spectacular!

The dress rehearsal was scarily bad and we considered pulling the wednesday performance of the show....although we are so happy that we didnt! The cast, orchestra and crew pulled it together to be what some have said as Stage Theatre Societies best production yet! Roll on Peter Pan so we can raise the bar...yet again!

HAIRSPRAY THE MUSICAL OCTOBER 2009.

Hairspray was a new challenge for Stage Theatre Society! this time round we were to be performing at a school due to licence restrictions. The initial impression that everyone had was that it would be a school style show in a school style venue... but oh how they were wrong! The show raised the bar even higher for STS and was one of our most professional shows yet! We hired enough technical equipment to make the hall look like a theatre... along with the truly amazing cast Hairspray turned out to be a superb performance and fun was had by all.

SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL MARCH 2010.

All the things you can think when you think about SEUSS! Thats right, in March 2010 Stage Theatre Society took once more to the Hazlitt stage to perform Seussical the Musical. For what is a very 'quirky' show STS managed to pull it off fantastically. With an amazing cast (most of the time) and a very dedicated back stage crew... the show was a huge success... make sure you look at the gallery for the show!

BILLY ELLIOT JUNE 2010.

Here at STS we feel that Billy Elliot took Stage Theatre Society to a brand new level!

It is better for this show to put comments here that were made by the public that came to see the show!

"We were about half way back in the stalls.  From where you were we would have been to your left, the last 3 seats from the wall.  It was so good, so professional, I was very impressed kept forgetting you were all young people and not adults.  Well done to you all.  "

"It was the best ever, compliments were flying, many people compared it to as good if not better than the west end!!!

"By all accounts it was great so well done to all xxx"

"a friend of mine watched it yesterday and said it was fab :))"

STS: BILLY ELLIOT  Thanks for a terrific evening. You must be so proud and pleased for all that you achieved, The feeling of Company was so strong as were the outstanding performances and energy.I've seen the show twice in London and you have kept the great warmth and angst of the piece together with some original interpretations.  I'm looking forward to your next show.
OUTSTANDING. AMAZING TALENT  BRILLIANT!!!! WHAT A COMPANY!

I just wanted to say Wow! I came to see Billy Elliot last night and was blown away by how fantastic it was, you must be so proud. Well done.

Just wanted to drop you a line to say how completely brilliant the show was!!!!

My 6 yr old budding ballet dancer was soooo excited about going to see it and despite the fact that it started at half past bedtime and he was already drifting off at that point, (not to mention the difficulty he was having keeping his eyes open by 10.30!) he was absolutely enraptured and was closely watching the ballet dancers feet … you had some real stars there, thank goodness for ‘big boy’ role models J  His favourite bits were ‘when billy said the rude words’, ‘when billy & Michael did their funny dance’, ‘when billy flew with the bigger boy’.  Of course he now wants to go to see the London when the lad hits the west end stage!

Having seen Billy Elliot in the West End and Loving it I was so excited when I read that the producers had allowed Youth Theatre's from around the country to put on Local performances to celebrate the show running 5 years.
I became even more excited when I read it would be performed at The Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone by Stage Theatre Society. I ... See Moregot tickets for the last performance on Saturday 26th June which I later found out had sold out along with all other performances.
From the moment the music began, which was a live band, and I saw the projected images of Maggie Thatcher and striking miners I felt I was back in the West End.
Then the show really started. The first scene with all the cast singing had the audience captivated immediately, I guess the ages were from 17 down to as young as 5 or 6 ! but don't let that paint a school show picture in your minds this was on par with the professionals.
Next on was Billy, this is what I was waiting for because if Billy was to be half as good as the rest of the cast I knew we would be in for a treat.
We were ! What a little star, he even sang in "Geordie" he looked like what you expected a Billy to look like.
It would be wrong not to mention on how great Mrs Wilkinson played her part as the dance teacher with fantastic singing in every scene, control of the Ballet Girls who were also fantastic with their singing and dancing.
The Dad and Brother also sang and spoke in Geordie accent and were outstanding.
Michael, Billy's friend, who if you don't know has to play his part in a camp way, did a fantastic job getting the audience laughing and loving his character.
The Grandmother also got the laughs and did a great job especially with her dancing and singing.
The Letter scene with the Dead mum who sang beautifully and Billy singing in true character had some of the audience in tears, not me of course!
Throughout the show Billy had been learning to dance and you could see that he was a natural and all I could wait for was Electricity, we had already had a teaser in Born to Boogie with Mr Braithwaite showing his skills and Billy acrobatically flipping off the piano ! WOW.
On to Electricity, Fantastic singing and incredible dancing that I have only ever seen once before and that was in the West End, this earned Billy a well deserved Standing Ovation which you could see from his face he was loving every minute of it, and it did last that long.
The finale was Brilliant with all cast getting cheers and applause and more standing ovations for Billy and the whole Cast.
A big well done to the Director,Crew, choreographers and everyone else involved, Great Show, cant Wait for the next one.
